Dates for the Diary
JUNE
Friday 3rd 3.00 pm Social Croquet - All welcome Monday 13th Public Holiday - Queen's Birthday Tuesday 14th COM Meeting

From Our President ...

Biggest morning tea coincided with a visit from Adam Crouch State Member for Terrigal.

We will be having a new path installed from the front gate to the clubhouse from Wednesday 8th June, by CC Council. The widened path and gate is to allow for wheel chair access and removal of trip hazards. Bob Howie, President

Thank You Today the sun has shone…tomorrow, who knows! Thank you to all of our members for your patience during this inclement weather. Diana has been checking the lawns regularly and is mindful of the damage that may occur should we all be too anxious to play on lawns which are wet. Emails have been sent to keep you all up to date on whether play can take place or not. The greenkeeper and Paul are also experiencing the frustration being felt by the players, as their plans are constantly being interrupted. Our sunny Australian weather will eventually return and until then your patience and support is truly appreciated. Gail Cannon, Vice President

Games Captain Report The weather has governed activities in May, creating chaos for the Div 2 & 3 Pennants schedule, but both teams performed extremely well and we are very proud of them. Pennants Div 2 Finals have been transferred to Nelson Bay, so normal play here on 6/7 June. Queen’s Birthday long weekend, 11, 12, 13 June, no organized games on Monday, lawns open, weather permitting. With the general lack of play, do take advantage of any fine days to dust off the mallet, get down to the lawns and back in the swing. Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday are available for everyone, PLUS, fingers crossed for the First Friday of the month SOCIAL CROQUET this Friday, 03 June from 3pm will be blessed with fine weather! Bring along your drinks and nibbles but no uniform! Happy to see some of our newest members on the lawns and playing very well too, they are keen for tips and advice to hone their new skills so let’s all get to know them and share our love of croquet .. at the Social Croquet on Friday perhaps??!! Diana Mears, Games Captain

Coaching The next session of 5 beginner's lessons are due to commence on June 16. There are plenty of vacant spots so if any members know of any family or friends that may like to learn the game of golf croquet, please pass on my contact details or ask them to contact the club.
If any member would like some refresher pointers on any aspect of their game, myself and any of the club coaches are happy to arrange a time to assist you. On June 8, some of our club coaches will be updating their coaching qualifications with Pam Gentle at Maitland.
Sue Yule, Coaching Co-ordinator

Congratulations Kathy!! Each year Rotary Club of Gosford North acknowledges people who have excelled in their work or community service.
This year Kathy Porter was a recipient of the Pride of Workmanship Award for her years of voluntary work with EDSACC Croquet Club. Kathy has worked very hard for our club over the years - there are not many jobs that Kathy hasn't done.
Well done Kathy & thank you.
From Lorraine and John .... John and I would like to express our surprise and delight at the farewell drinks, lunches, and dinners, that we have attended to say au revoir. Texts and personal calls have bought home how much we shall miss the EDSACC folks. We shall of course be back from time to time and look forward to catching up again. Warmest regards
