HISTORY
Welcome to EDSACC Croquet Club website. We are located in Bateau Bay opposite the Bay Village shopping centre.

In 1981, Alan and Jean Wailes became the driving force behind the establishment of the Ourimbah Croquet Club which was located at the Ourimbah-Lisarow RSL Club. Member Garry O'Dell, spear-headed the search for a more suitable home for the club, and in 1984 with the assistance of Wyong Shire Council the area at the Entrance District Sport and Community Centre (EDSACC) was secured.

When members looked at the site, all they saw was a "swamp and piles of rubble". However, this did not deter the eager group who decided that this site would be ideal.

In August 1984, EDSACC Croquet Club was formed, and with a membership of 15, the Inaugural Meeting of the club was held on 19 October 1984.

The first day of play at the Club was 15 June 1985. The lawns were officially opened on 14 September 1985 by Cr Sheridan of Wyong Shire Council. With CNSW President Stan Hall in attendance, this day in September was also the Club's very first Gala Day.

Construction of the Clubhouse commenced in 1986 and was officially opened in October as the "Garry O"Dell Pavillion" by Cr Cutler of Wyong Shire Council, Garry O'Dell was the Foundation President of the Club. The Club at that time boasted 72 Members.

Over the years, members have volunteered their time and skills in developing the lawns and gardens, and erecting buldings. From the outset, sponsorships and grants have enabled the Club to construct and maintain four lawns, build the Clubhouse, purchase equipment and furniture, and conduct tournaments and carnivals.

Club members continue to enjoy the fun and friendship that croquet offers, and appreciate the hard work put in by generations of Club members.
